The Research and Evaluation team at LifeLong Medical Care’s East Bay Community Recovery Project (EBCRP) site is seeking a part-time intern to assist with a range of reporting tasks. LifeLong Medical Care is a large, multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a wonderfully diverse patient community. EBCRP, located in West Oakland, supports self-sufficiency and wellness of individuals and families by providing comprehensive and integrated services for mental health, substance use and related health conditions while addressing housing and employment. The Research and Evaluation team is responsible for evaluation activities on several federally and county-funded grant programs that serve individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.

LifeLong Medical Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center in Northern California with over 42 years of dedicated service to the community. LifeLong provides comprehensive, compassionate care to over 66,000 patients in socio-economically underserved regions of the East Bay Area. We provide medical, dental, behavioral health, school-based, and homeless shelter services at over 70 sites across Alameda and West Contra Costa County.

About the team:

The team compiles monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to track programs’ progress, as well as periodic focus group evaluations and presentations of other collected data. The intern would be mainly responsible for assisting with efforts to compile the various reports, which includes data cleaning, data visualization, coding qualitative and quantitative data, and conducting internet searches to include relevant data for comparison. This role is ideal for an individual seeking experience in the research/evaluation field. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and completes tasks efficiently. This role would involve 8-16 hours per week, with options for in-office or remote work.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Clean and organize large amounts of data in spreadsheets for reporting
  • Create/update visualizations of data
  • Research and compile city, county, and state data for comparisons in reports
  • Code qualitative data gathered from interview transcripts
  • Assist with narrative descriptions of data visualizations
  • Enter survey and assessment data
  • Other research and administrative tasks as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of research and evaluation methods

1 Shift

  • 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
    Day and number of hours can be flexible, but work will be completed during normal business hours.
