Job Description
Are you looking to help people who have experienced trauma, develop their clinical skills or grow their
social services abilities? Looking to work with a diverse population and team? If so, Community
Advocates for Family and Youth is the team for you.
CAFY provides a safe and quality learning environments for interns to build skills, manage caseloads,
learn about trauma, stress and deal with issues that affect the community’s mental health and well-
being. We pride ourselves on working holistically and using a trauma-informed care model that
encourages our client’s strengths.
We focus on self-care. Our typical 4-day work schedule is 10 am to 8 pm Monday through Wednesday,
Thursday 9 am to 5 pm, first and third Saturdays. (as needed).
Opportunities
Work with diverse populations of individuals, groups, couples, families, and the community
o to improve mental health and assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life and
making changes
o to provide support in high stress and traumatic situations
Gain an understanding of community resources
Receive constructive clinical supervision from LCSW-C or LPC
Learn and develop real skills and knowledge on clinical approaches including but not limited to
CBT, TF-CBT Sand Tray, and Play therapy
Gain knowledge in providing client-centered, trauma-informed care services
Work within a professional team
o to develop and implement new policies and procedures
o to make effective change for the agency, clients, and community
Learn to develop, prepare and maintain required documentation including progress notes,
treatment plans, victim services plan and reports surrounding supervisees
Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to leverage internal and external resources as a part of the client treatment plan
Ability to work well independently/in-group/ team settings
