Job Description
Are you looking to help people who have experienced trauma, develop their clinical skills or grow their
social services abilities? Looking to work with a diverse population and team? If so, Community
Advocates for Family and Youth is the team for you.
CAFY provides a safe and quality learning environments for interns to build skills, manage caseloads,
learn about trauma, stress and deal with issues that affect the community’s mental health and well-
being. We pride ourselves on working holistically and using a trauma-informed care model that
encourages our client’s strengths.
We focus on self-care. Our typical 4-day work schedule is 10 am to 8 pm Monday through Wednesday,
Thursday 9 am to 5 pm, first and third Saturdays. (as needed).
Opportunities
Work with diverse populations of individuals, groups, couples, families, and the community
o to improve mental health and assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life and
making changes
o to provide support in high stress and traumatic situations
 Gain an understanding of community resources
 Receive constructive clinical supervision from LCSW-C or LPC
 Learn and develop real skills and knowledge on clinical approaches including but not limited to
CBT, TF-CBT Sand Tray, and Play therapy
 Gain knowledge in providing client-centered, trauma-informed care services
 Work within a professional team
o to develop and implement new policies and procedures
o to make effective change for the agency, clients, and community
 Learn to develop, prepare and maintain required documentation including progress notes,
treatment plans, victim services plan and reports surrounding supervisees
Qualifications
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Ability to leverage internal and external resources as a part of the client treatment plan
 Ability to work well independently/in-group/ team settings
