This volunteer would help our veterans on the golf course and driving range by providing water, golf balls, or any other materials they need.

This volunteer will help set up and clean tent, chairs, golf equipment as able, and provide any other services as needed.

This is a social situation where you will interact with staff members and players, so a friendly and patient disposition is required.

About Heroes United Golf Scramble League

Location:

9302 Juniper Moss Circle, Orlando, FL 32832, US

Mission Statement

At Heroes United Golf Scramble League our mission is to provide world-class golf instruction, team building and mental skills support through golf league competition to disabled and amputee active duty and retired Veterans and First Responders throughout Central Florida and ultimately the United States.

Description

In 2020 we wanted to create a golf league that would promote mental and physical well-being for disabled veterans and first responders. We began in August of 2020 and now have 2 seasons a year that last over the course of 3-4 months each. Practicing and playing every other weekend we offer free clinics and warm-ups with golf coaches who can help build our player's game. Our players then play 9 hole scramble with a team that could include other disabled veterans or first-responders, or even donors, sponsors, or junior golfers looking to volunteer their time.

The Orlando VA published an article about our league. You can find the article here: https://www.orlando.va.gov/features/Therapy_on_the_Golf_Course.asp

Our goal is to establish a strong program lifting up our players through camaraderie and well-being. We hope to expand the program to other cities and states!
