Are you interested in using your leadership and management expertise to help a non-profit? SCORE Chattanooga wants to strengthen its leadership internally with business leaders who are excited about helping small businesses.
Our current volunteers are focused outward on mentoring our clients. We are looking for individuals who enjoy setting a strategic direction, and then aligning our team members to get there. These roles also provide opportunities to partner with leaders in other parts of the SCORE community organizations such at the Chamber of Commerce. We are also looking for individuals to augment our marketing and social media presence in the community.
Possible Areas of Focus include
- Chapter Leader: Membership, Development
- Liaison with a Chamber of Commerce or other community organizations

Description
SCORE, America's premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs and small businesses, is a nonprofit resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). We have over 300 SCORE offices across the country and 10,000 volunteers offering free business mentoring and low- or no-cost workshops.
For over 50 years, SCORE's thousands of working and retired business professionals have volunteered to support the success of small business nationwide. SCORE business mentoring is free and confidential.
We provide:
- Free, confidential business mentoring in person, via email or by video
- Volunteer mentors who share their expertise across industries
- Free business tools, templates and tips online
- Inexpensive or free business workshops (locally) and webinars (online 24/7)

- Our volunteers typically spend between 10-15 hours per month. Much of the work can be done from your home or place of business, and has flexible hours.
- The training program is self paced and provides background on what we do and what materials are available for mentors. The program includes 'shadow' sessions with other volunteers to experience the roles first hand.
