Role description

Africa health care system is fighting hard to address the varied medical issues faced daily. The governments are in the process of establishing new policies and programmes to solve problems.

We are looking for health system assessment officers to be responsible for providing effective assessment and solutions to the public health and social programmes. They conduct research on the effective issues as well as evaluate and analyse the same to design these solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Choose a health or social indicator to carry out health system assessment in a country in Africa.
  • Choose a health or social indicator and carry out assessment on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities in the UK
  • Research and advocate various issues and concepts which will help to improve the health care system
  • Examine the various health care options in the society and the need to address those aspects
  • Design and conduct analytical studies to support the laid-out objectives and plans
  • Examine the latest government policies and adhere to the same while making effective solutions
  • Evaluate the impact of the policy and solutions already undertaken
  • Suggest remedial measures to ineffective health care programmes
  • Solve community health and social health programmes in the most cost-effective way
  • Determine the cost for the health policy programmes
  • Prepare assessment report with Theory of Change for submission to the CEO

Qualifications and skills

  • A qualification or studying public policy or public health or related subjects such as social studies
  • Some experience in the field of health system assessment
  • possess good knowledge of medical system, budget analysis, health management and accounting to resolve health policy issues.
  • Knowledge of the health and health care industry
  • Familiar with the government policies, affairs, businesses and technologies
  • Ability to assess critical situations and give analytical solutions
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and provide corrective measures
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Attention to details and problem-solving skills
