Suncrest Hospice extends an invitation to share time with treasured people who are nearing the end of their lives.

Volunteers with Suncrest Hospice visit individuals on our service; listen to music, conversation, reading, writing, listening (!) crafts, games, painting, recalling and recording memories and so much more!

Suncrest Hospice welcomes students, retired individuals, young, young at heart, those working, those able to visit during the day or evening or weekend - we have a place for everyone!

Our goal is to create a supportive environment to be comfortable serving the sweet people receiving hospice care.

You have a gift to share....only requirement is to "forget oneself and begin creating joy!"

Hospice of Canterbury 1302 - May you find food, shelter & Medicine
May you find friendship, companionship and love
May you find people who will support & be with you on your journey...

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care and customer service to our patients, their families and our referring sources. We believe that exceptional clinical care must include clear communication, a commitment to exceeding customer expectations, and a dedication to deliver services with passion and integrity. We are committed to maintaining a team comprised of the most talented and compassionate professionals in the industry. As our greatest asset, our team supports each other, takes complete ownership of their duties, and continually seeks to enhance their personal character and education. Suncrest will reach its goals under the direction of leaders who seek to serve, an office staff that supports, and a philosophy that growth is only achieved through the greatest efforts of the entire team.

Description

Suncrest Hospice is looking for volunteers to join the Suncrest Team as we provide excellent care and support to our hospice patients and their families. There are opportunities to serve families throughout the Wasatch Front.

The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of living that one can achieve at end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team: nurse, nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain and volunteers, we help the patient and family walk through their journey.

As a volunteer, you can choose between many opportunities: the gift of companionship, emotional support to the patient and the family, listening to music, running errands, birthday celebrations, clerical support in the office or community outreach and events.

Volunteers are trained in their role with patients, we are required to conduct background checks and TB testing, at no charge to all volunteers.

Please contact the office at 801-996-8469 for more information.
