Are you interested in supporting the park Paddle with a Ranger program or PaddleShare program? Canoe/Kayak Program Specialist help support programs in a variety of ways including serving as the sweep paddler, steadying canoes/kayaks for other participants as they load/unload, helping other paddlers by providing with very basic coaching tips and tricks, encouraging participants and helping point out interest features or points of interest along the route. Paddle Program Specialist should be comfortable canoeing or kayaking upstream and downstream in a river; the routes vary in length, duration and difficulty including programs at Pickerel Lake. Canoe/Kayak Program Specialist would be able to select the route and dates that work for them.

Description
The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.
Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
