Clean up the river corridor during this special citywide cleanup event in partnership with the City of Saint Paul and One Tree Planted! Join your community and Mississippi Park Connection in sprucing up Indian Mounds Regional Park after the snow melts. All necessary equipment will be provided; just bring your enthusiasm, wear a mask, and social distance! This event is excellent for people of all ages with proper supervision. The Volunteers-In-Parks program, jointly managed by Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and Mississippi Park Connection, connects, educates, and promotes the enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River through unique and entertaining volunteer opportunities to the entire community.
Description
The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.
Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
