As a new organization, we have smaller tasks that we need taken care of that our volunteer staff cannot always handle. We are looking for someone who has administrative experience to perform duties that will assist with responding to general emails, and supporting other volunteers, creating office materials.
Yaa's Beautifully Equipped Scholarship is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to equity in learning and persistence to graduation. Our organization was created to address the chasm that exists for women of color to access resources for self care and overall wellness.
Description
In 2016, a few women came together with what started with a monthly happy hour made exclusively for us (by us). From the conversations, that same group of women formed this scholarship fund.
Many members realized that they shared similar college experience and wanted to create a community facing fund to help break the cycle that left many feeling excluded and alone. Like the magic we are, we have created something awe-inspiring. Without the sense of community we have felt since starting our group, this beautiful idea would not have come to fruition.
With that, we created Yaa’s Beautifully Equipped Scholarship (#YAASBE). Our mission is to address the chasm that exists for women of color to access resources for self care and overall wellness. We plan on doing that by equipping scholarship recipients with tools for holistic success utilizing resources of other professional women of color in the community.
