Our organization is undergoing a shift in philosophy and in structure, we are hoping to have someone come in to assist us in creating infrastructure to steward a board that can support this change. We currently are looking to revise by-laws, build board expectations, create board position descriptions, revise board contracts, create a board orientation, and establish fundraising expectation.

Mission Statement
Yaa's Beautifully Equipped Scholarship is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to equity in learning and persistence to graduation. Our organization was created to address the chasm that exists for women of color to access resources for self care and overall wellness.
Description
In 2016, a few women came together with what started with a monthly happy hour made exclusively for us (by us). From the conversations, that same group of women formed this scholarship fund.
Many members realized that they shared similar college experience and wanted to create a community facing fund to help break the cycle that left many feeling excluded and alone. Like the magic we are, we have created something awe-inspiring. Without the sense of community we have felt since starting our group, this beautiful idea would not have come to fruition.
With that, we created Yaa’s Beautifully Equipped Scholarship (#YAASBE). Our mission is to address the chasm that exists for women of color to access resources for self care and overall wellness. We plan on doing that by equipping scholarship recipients with tools for holistic success utilizing resources of other professional women of color in the community.
