Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER who can help us create beautiful and impactful content for our social platforms. Our program provides free online English tutoring for Colombian teens who live in remote locations, then potential and current students and tutors are constantly checking our social networks to find more information about our program.
What kind of tasks will you be doing?
- Create a social media calendar for our different channels (Instagram and Facebook, mainly)
- Update the different social networks according to the calendar.
- Keeping track of conversations and referring people to the right place for information.
The organizational team will support you along this process. We will together create the brand image, determine the communication tone, and give you access to all the students and tutors, in case you need it.
Expect to learn a lot and have a lot of fun :).
What skills do you need?
Some basic marketing skills would be good. Also, we expect you to be able to create nice-looking images using Canva, Illustrator or any other graphic design software.
What do we do?
We provide online free English Tutoring to Colombian teens between 15 and 24 years. These youngsters have been very affected by the pandemic; Once these young people graduate from high school, it is very difficult for them to find further education or job opportunities, as they have to compete with people of urban areas, where education is better.
We've seen that once they start learning English, these youngsters' life changes dramatically; they have access to more online resources, and they contribute to improving the conditions of their relatives and friends in their communities.
Economical compensation?
Unfortunately none. All members of the team help on a voluntary basis. We can, however, provide any certificate or reference you might need in the future about this experience.

Help young people living in remote areas of Colombia have more access to .educational and professional opportunities by tutoring them in English. Once they start learning English, these youngsters start using more online educational resources, are able to find online job opportunities, and contribute to improving the rest of the community they belong to. Colombia has one of the worst levels of English in the world? (77th out of 100 countries measured on the EF Standard English Test). We are committed to helping Latin American countries, such as Colombia, become more competitive. Especially rural populations, which have a poverty index that can reach up to 80%.
Description
We are a group of people who all help voluntarily with English tutoring to youngsters of remote areas in Colombia. We are already a group of almost 30 students and 20 tutors. We are a very diverse team: There are tutors from different parts of the world, of different ages and with different levels of English expertise helping us.
