Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a video editor who can help us create beautiful and impactful communication videos for our online English tutoring program with Colombian teens living in remote locations. You don't have to be a professional video editor whatsoever, we're looking for someone for whom creating videos is his/her passion and has already edited a few in the past.
What kind of videos will you be doing?
Some of the videos you might expect to work on could be the following:
- Thank you video for our more than 20 tutors around the globe. It's really important for us that tutors see the impact they are causing and get some appreciation from students.
- Promotional video for potential new students and/or potential new tutors.
The organizational team will support you, getting all the shots that are needed. We expect this to be a cool project that you can be proud of in the future :).
What do we do?
We provide online free English Tutoring to Colombian teens between 15 and 24 years. These youngsters have been very affected by the pandemic; education before was not good, but now they only receive some booklets that they have to fill out and then send back to the school. This is no way of learning a new language, and one can really tell by the low English level among them. Once these young people graduate from high school, it is very difficult for them to find further education or job opportunities, as they have to compete with people of urban areas, where education is better.
We've seen that once they start learning English, these youngsters' life changes dramatically; they have access to more online resources, and they contribute to improving the conditions of their relatives and friends in their communities.
Economical compensation?
Unfortunately none. All members of the team help on a voluntary basis. We can, however, provide any certificate or reference you might need in the future about this experience.

Help young people living in remote areas of Colombia have more access to .educational and professional opportunities by tutoring them in English. Once they start learning English, these youngsters start using more online educational resources, are able to find online job opportunities, and contribute to improving the rest of the community they belong to. Colombia has one of the worst levels of English in the world? (77th out of 100 countries measured on the EF Standard English Test). We are committed to helping Latin American countries, such as Colombia, become more competitive. Especially rural populations, which have a poverty index that can reach up to 80%.
Description
We are a group of people who all help voluntarily with English tutoring to youngsters of remote areas in Colombia. We are already a group of almost 30 students and 20 tutors. We are a very diverse team: There are tutors from different parts of the world, of different ages and with different levels of English expertise helping us.
