Celebrate Arbor Day with us as we plant trees and shrubs that will make up the M. B. Johnson Food Forest! The newly planted food forest will enhance the ecosystem and make the city more resilient by offering food for people, providing habitat for wildlife, and improving water quality.
Choose a shift from 1-3 p.m., 3-5 p.m., or 5-7 p.m.
Volunteers will work in groups of 2-3 people. Consider bringing friends or family. Otherwise, you will be paired with someone upon arrival.
Choose to plant trees and shrubs, put up fencing, or operate the water truck for your shift. Tree planters will be digging holes, planting 5-6 ft. tall trees, laying down newspaper, mulching, and watering.
