ORGANIZATION: CALIFORNIA CREATIVITY ASSOCIATION

  • 19 people are interested

Our program website is used not only to introduce perspective teams and families to Destination Imagination in California, but also for teams registering for tournaments and keeping track of other pertinent information. We are looking for a volunteer to update, maintain and add new material to the site as needed throughout the year.
A previous volunteer built the current site and we are in need of an overhaul and cleaning up the many plug-ins, links to nowhere and general housekeeping.
We are looking for someone who can commit 5-10 hours per week, more when new pages need developed and added. We are also looking for a skilled social media person and our Webmaster will need to work in tandem with this person on some occasions.
Volunteer must be knowledgeable in Wordpress, OceanWP, Elementor and Woo Commerce.

Description

We are a globally recognized educational nonprofit dedicated to inspiring the next generation of innovators, leaders and creative problem solvers. Destination Imagination (DI) is in 45 states and over 35 countries around the world, reaching 150,000 participants annually. The California Affiliate has been around since 1988. Over that time, we have built Regional areas as the main hubs for Tournaments with teams spanning from San Diego to San Francisco and beyond. Our Board members represent areas from all over the state. Teams of up to 7 children solve STEAM based challenges. The more creative, unique and out of the box thinking, the better. DI challenges children to take risks, work together and build on each others ideas and strengths.

As more families are looking for alternatives to enhance their child's education, CALDI is expanding to meet those needs as well. In pre-COVID years, we have had over 400 teams participating in the program. We anticipate as families return to school and life, our program will continue to grow. DI offers a hands on approach to problem solving unlike any other experience. We are a volunteer based organization and rely heavily on those volunteers and donors to help grow and maintain the program.
