Transport life saving blood to Syracuse Area hospitals!
As a Blood Transport Volunteer (Transportation Specialist) you play a crucial role in the American Red Cross mission.
With your help, we can succeed in providing lifesaving blood to cancer and transplant patients, premature babies, accident victims, and others who need blood at area hospitals. We depend on you, as part of the team, to provide excellent customer service and ensure reliable and safe transport of our precious cargo!
Transport life saving blood from our Blood Drives to our Red Cross laboratory
Transport blood and blood products to our community hospitals as routine or "emergency" deliveries
Pick up empty boxes from our area hospitals
Deliver supplies to support our blood drives
Obtain signatures and complete required paperwork
Share with Red Cross staff any feedback or any urgent issues
Drive in a safe and responsible manner to ensure delivery of this precious cargo
If you love to drive, this is great volunteer opportunity on your own or with a passenger of your choice!
We provide all of the training, materials and the vehicle (gas and tolls provided). We also follow all COVID-19 health and safety regulations.
