Mission Statement

Guitars for Vets, Inc. (G4V) is a federally registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that enhances the lives of ailing and injured military veterans by providing them with guitars and music instruction. Through self-expression and the healing power of music, it is our intent to restore the feelings of joy and purpose that can be lost after suffering trauma.

Description

Guitars For Vets is a volunteer staffed organization with over 120 chapters in cities across the United States. Each chapter works with local VA care providers who identify and refer interested veterans who can benefit from the healing power of music. Many of our students suffer from PTSD or other traumatic injuries. Veterans enroll to receive ten free, individualized guitar instructions from volunteer guitar instructors in the community and a loaner instrument as needed . Upon completion of the instruction program they receive a free guitar with all accessories from Guitars For Vets. Graduates are invited to participate in ongoing group lessons and workshops.
