ORGANIZATION: ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE OF CHARLOTTE COUNTY FLORIDA INC

Dog walkers at the Animal Welfare League provide exercise and enrichment for shelter dogs. Leash walks are the main form of exercise for AWL dogs and it is important for their health and wellbeing during their stay to go out on walks as much as possible! In addition to walking dogs, volunteers can help with basic obedience training with the guidance of AWL Staff. Volunteers can help teach dogs skills like leash walking, heeling, staying, and sitting. This enrichment can shorten their stay and help dogs ultimately become more adoptable!

Learn more about volutneering at the Animal Welfare League on our website: https://www.awlshelter.org/volunteer

Please note that you will need to go through orientation and training to become a dog walker.
