Seeking entertainers and artisans of all sorts to interact with clients from our Life Skills Development training at The Arc Nassau. Do you play an instrument? Do you sing? Do you enjoy storytelling? Do you enjoy leading a group through arts & crafts? Or do you have a unique hobby that our audience would enjoy? We would love to have you come share your time and talent with our friends. Our facility is relatively small with a client audience of 15-20 people. Opportunities are available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm, with great flexibility in scheduling.

The Arc Nassau is committed to educating, motivating and encouraging individuals with varying abilities to achieve independence, and enjoy successful and fulfilling lives.

Since the early 1970s, The Arc Nassau has helped meet the needs of Nassau County adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by providing programs and services that support their active participation in all aspects of life.

The Arc Nassau is a local, nonprofit agency providing programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities who are 18 years and older. The Arc Nassau primarily services individuals with Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, spina bifida, Prader-Willi syndrome and varied mental challenges.

Maximizing an individual’s independence at home and in the community is The Arc Nassau’s fundamental focus. Our caring staff provide each individual’s support program to meet the needs and wishes of our program participants.

Description

The Arc Nassau is a 501(c)(3) that has been serving the needs of persons with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities for more than 45 years in Nassau County. The Arc Nassau primarily services individuals with Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, spina bifida, Prader-Willi syndrome and varied mental challenges.

Programming at The Arc Nassau consists of: life skills development, Nassau Works and a contract through RESPECT of Florida. Our life skills development program supports clients, Monday through Friday, with a full day of programming supporting their educational and socialization needs. Volunteers are always encouraged to participate in this program to help diversify programming.

Nassau Works provides supported employment and employment services. Our contract with RESPECT of Florida, provides employment for the I/DD community of Nassau.

The Arc Nassau has completed Phase One for our Outdoor Experience Center. The OEC will provide an experience that not only clients can enjoy, but the community at large offering a lush green space with various recreational components to engage our visitors. This outdoor space will provide the community with many volunteer opportunities as we work with our community to create a welcoming space that will be accessible to all who live, work or play in Nassau County.
