ORGANIZATION: Jewish Family Service of Metro Detroit

Russian-speaking volunteers are needed to teach basic iPad skills to older adult clients. The commitment is 1 hour per week for about 8 weeks. Volunteers must be at least 18, be bilingual (English/Russian) and have either an iPhone or iPad. Volunteers should be patient, empathetic, kind and reliable. All volunteers complete an application and vetting process. Training is provided. Volunteers visit the client in their home or at a mutually agreed upon public space.

This is a great opportunity for Russian-language students, retirees, teachers and anyone who has the desire to help an older adult feel less isolated. The learning opportunities for both the client AND the volunteer are tremendous.
