We are looking for amazing people who are willing to give the gift of time! Our volunteers are compassionate people who are willing to share their time with our patients by providing companionship. A volunteer visit would consist of talking and reminiscing about life and experiences, music, sitting and enjoying the nice weather, pushing a wheelchair for a walk, reading to a patient, or something as simple as lending a hand to hold. Its about making a connection to the patient and it is about being there when the family members cant be. Its the feeling you get knowing you are making a difference for someone with a terminal illness. The volunteer would be assigned to one or multiple patients depending on their availability. Visits are usually twice per month or more and on your schedule. You do not need a medical background to become a volunteer, you just need a desire to help others.
We serve a 60 mile radius from our office in Green Bay. We go to wherever our patients live which can include assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or their home. A specific need is volunteers willimg to travel to the Appleton/Fox valley area.
When becoming a volunteer you will complete the on boarding process, training, a mandatory drug test, background check and TB blood draw paid for by AseraCare.
