Volunteer to Help Your Neighbors in Bucks County - Vita is seeking volunteers interested in tutoring adults in Bucks County who need help in basic literacy and improving their English speaking, writing, and reading skills.
Current volunteer opportunities are as a Literacy/English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor or as a Classroom Aide. Tutors are needed who are willing to teach in-person in the Lower Bucks area. Classroom Aide opportunities are both virtual and in-person.
Tutors are trained using a curriculum that prepares them to work in any of Vita’s adult basic education or English language learning programs. Trainees view on-line training videos and attend two in-person training sessions.
Classroom Aide trainees view a series of on-line training videos. At the end of each training, a Vita staff member meets with each person to assign programs, groups, or class.
