We are looking for experienced construction volunteers that will be able to work independently and with the support of other volunteers to help us re-build and fix up the new ETIV headquarters, with a particular emphasis on making the house and the apartments as eco-friendly as possible. Currently, we need to improve the roof and install gutters that will allow us to save and reuse rainwater and we plan to construct a covered roof learning space and an outdoor bathroom. We also need to better fix up the pool, build a new organic garden and composting area and there are many little fixes that need to be done. Finally, our backyard will open up to a small mangrove forest that we are protecting and restoring. We will be building an outdoor deck and platform to brings groups of students into the mangroves as part of our environmental education, and we will be building double doors that open up into the mangroves, while we also want to put up a fence and many signs all around the entire forest so that people realize it is a protected area that they will no longer be able to destroy.

Mission Statement
To support youth development and environmental conservation in Brazil by connecting volunteers and interns with local communities.
Description
ETIV is deeply focused on youth development and environmental conservation in Brazil. As a result, one of our main goals is to develop a new generation of local youth leaders that actively care for each other, their community, the environment and all sentient beings. This is the main avenue by which we work to achieve our Mission and Vision (highlighted below).
Through all of our community projects, we encourage volunteers to teach and model some of the core values necessary to create and maintain healthy and prosperous communities. This includes mutual respect, cultural appreciation, caring for each other, speaking the truth, acting honestly and transparently, sharing and being generous (as opposed to stealing or taking things that don’t belong to you) and actively caring for the environment and all sentient beings.
