Heartland Hospice is the first free-standing hospice facility in the state. It is for patients need short-term intensive care to manage acute needs. In this home-like setting patients and families are welcomed with open arms, to enjoy the precious time they have with life's details (meals & clinical care) all taken care of by knowledgeable professionals.
Flexible volunteers that are willing to do a variety of tasks are needed.
We're looking for Friendly Visitor Volunteers willing to give time to provide compassionate support; reading, holding a hand, singing a song, sitting quietly, listening, helping with life review, or sitting with a patient while their caregiver takes a much needed break.
We're also looking for Administrative volunteers willing to help answer the phones and welcoming visitors at the reception desk is also needed.
Pet therapy volunteers welcome.
This facility is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Hospice programs are designed to offer support, care and comfort to terminally ill patients in the final stages of life as well as their families.
Hospice Care is a promise...a promise to patients who are facing the most difficult time of life, when choices seem few, and the patient and family situation can be most fragile.
