A volunteer facilitator of learning is a teacher who does not operate under the traditional concept of teaching but rather is meant to guide and assist clients in learning for themselves - picking apart ideas, forming their own thoughts about them, and owning material through self-exploration and dialogue.

Mission Statement

To empower people of color in our local communities to achieve economic independence by providing the essential financial literacy skills needed to become economically prosperous, thrive, and become themselves a beacon of hope in the community.

Description

The Destined for Greatness (DFG) Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created in 2020 with a mission of financially empowering and uplifting people of color in our local communities. We, as an organization believe that financial literacy is the first step towards the reduction of the wealth disparities in the black and brown communities. The DFG Project has been organized to tackle the financial illiteracy epidemic that we are facing across the world by doing our part to lessen the impact of the epidemic by improving financial literacy.

Through the DFG programs, we champion effective financial education as we work towards our vision by building financial strength, stability, and self-reliance in partnership with our clients. Our continuum of services includes our programs such as Generational Wealth for youth and adults, Entrepreneurship, and exploring paying for college.

The DFG Project is designed to provide consistent support to our clients through our programs, resources, and partnerships by fulfilling the need for quality financial education. Because each person has his or her own pre-existing financial habits, relationships with money, and current financial situations, personal finance is a unique and touchy subject that requires specialized skills.

While the DFG Project focuses on the black and brown communities, all are welcome to participate in our programs as it aligns with the vision of the DFG Project.
