Do you love art? Do you have some free time and want to volunteer? Do you need Community Service hours for school? If the answer is yes come join our volunteer staff at Arts Center East in Vernon, CT.

Arts Center East is home to a rich artistic community. We are a place where visual artists from across the state - and beyond! - exhibit and sell their work through juried exhibits and members exhibits. Unique handmade creations of pottery, jewelry, wood crafts, and other gifts made by local and regional artisans fill our artisan craft fairs. Musical and theatrical performances delight audiences of all ages, and our classrooms hum with the joy of artistic creation and growth. We are the heart of "Art" east of the river.

Arts Center East hosts numerous exhibits and events throughout the year. Our mission is to advance the arts for everyone through education exhibits, events, and performances. Our vision is to become a regional arts destination in Connecticut. All are welcome to enjoy the innovative exhibits, educational programming, performances, and events offered at arts center east.

Join us today! We have an urgent need for volunteers to join our team as gallery sitters. In this role you may assist with:

Art Drop Off - Helping with the intake of art for new exhibits.

Gallery Sitting - being in the gallery from 1 pm - 5 pm when exhibits are up and keeping track of how many people attend.

Art Pick Up - Assisting when artists come to pick up their work at the end of an exhibit.

Opening Receptions - S etting up tables, serving food and beverages, and cleaning up after the event.

This is a great opportunity for retirees, stay-at-home parents, students needing community service hours, or anyone who would like to give back to their community.
