ORGANIZATION: Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity
Please visit the new page to apply.
Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity is upgrading some of our technology systems and we are looking for a volunteer to help us with a few tasks within our Point of Sale (POS) system and our Tool Lending Library! If you have ever worked with an e-commerce site it would be somewhat similar.
The role involves the following:
- Adding descriptions of items for sale within our POS system
- Creating/editing a menu of items within the POS system
- Taking pictures of items in our tool lending library that can be checked out
- Listing items in the tool lending library (knowledge of various tools is a bonus, but not necessary!)
- Creating and listing items in the tool lending library software
Skills and competencies:
- Good communication skill
- Attention to detail
We estimate that the project will take 40-60 hours of time and needs to be completed by April 23rd. GDM Habitat staff will provide training on the systems before turning the project over to the volunteer. Scheduling is flexible, but a preference would be for the work to be completed between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. so a staff member can assist as needed. Expectations: sign a confidentiality agreement and agree to GDM Habitat's Volunteer Waiver. Please contact Elaine Collet ecollet@gdmhabitat.org for more information.
