LOOKING FOR DENVER TEENS:
We are beta testing an innovative 8-week course for teen girls for a nonprofit called Compass Rose International beginning April 12th. We are seeking 3 more participants to help us evaluate the program and provide feedback!

This program is life-changing, and you will play an integral part in shaping and designing the program that one day might be at your own school.
Our programming centers around that our power comes from within and we help young women calibrate their true direction in life through healthy bodies, mind, and spirit.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

  1. Establishes a Mind-Body-Spirit connection. Which means that our wellness comes not just from physical health, but from mind health and spirit health as well (spirit health means a purposeful life and actualization of different dimensions and capacities of human beings)
  2. Know personal power comes from within and understand how to access it, use it, and continually calibrate it to define it throughout her life.
  3. Display and exemplify compassion for self and others
  4. Are capable, self-sufficient, and self-advocating. They know how to turn their questions into solutions, and failures into opportunities.
  5. Recognize that challenges are growth in disguise. Every young woman will understand this is a life-long journey of growth and have the tools to embrace that reality.
  6. Leads within her community to inspire and serve in her own unique way

We keep mothers and children together through economic opportunity and education. We work to stop the orphan trade and child sex trafficking.

Description

Founded in 2011, we wanted to find a more permanent solution to dismantling for-profit orphan homes in Nepal. During that summer, the founder of Global Orphan Prevention discovered that 85% of children in orphan homes had living parents (UNICEF). Mothers that had been widowed or abandoned were often left with little opportunity for employment and often had to relinquish their children in hopes of providing them a better life in the orphan home. That first summer was spent buying cows and goats to stimulate income generation for such families.

Nowadays, the breath of the organization has extended to working with the Midwifery Society of Nepal providing clean birthing kits and programs in rural villages; thus saving the life of mother or child
