About The Role

We are looking for a Public Relations Specialist to organize and oversee PR activities and ensure effective communication with stakeholders, media, and the public. You'll join a fast-moving team that touches a wide array of projects across the tech for good spectrum. A strong candidate will be a creative thinker with excellent communication skills. Your goal will be to promote a positive organizational image.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all PR activities, including managing relationships with PR outlets
  • Identify new and emerging PR opportunities to build awareness
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop compelling storylines for high-level placements in various channels
  • Write and edit press releases and other public statements while maintaining a high editorial standard
  • Provide ongoing strategic communications recommendations for executives and other public-facing individuals
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with key journalists, bloggers and influencers in technology trade and business press
  • Define, measure, and report success and learnings for the Board of Directors
  • Responding to media requests for information
  • Take opportunities to weigh on media calendar, strategy, etc.
  • Deliver communications counsel to internal executives on both short- and long-term challenges and opportunities
  • Research and integrate industry news, trends and compelling angles into PR programs
  • Help maintain the identity and reputation of the organization
  • Evaluate public opinion of the company through surveys, polls, and social media listening
  • Evaluate advertising and promotional programs to ensure they align with PR goals

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a PR role
  • Experience with media relations is a plus
  • Broad understanding of what the media is interested in and how to tell a compelling story, as well as brand marketing principles
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • A desire to move the tech for good cause forward
