The Information and Planning Lead is responsible for gathering data required for the effective management of a disaster response, including information about the scope of the disaster and the effectiveness of the response. The data compiled by Information and Planning also supports reports to donors about the effective use of the resources they have provided to the Red Cross. This Lead will envision their team’s impact and inspire the team into action. They will ensure the team understands how they fit into the larger Disaster Cycle Services structure and how their actions can positively influence and support the program as a whole.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the collaborative leadership of the information and planning program within the Central Florida Region including:
Complete activities including analysis and planning, disaster assessment, financial and statistical information, and information dissemination
Oversee core information management technology platforms for disaster response and recovery (RCView, DSARS, etc.)
Provide operational planning support to regional leadership and local chapters/territories
Provide accurate and timely information according to defined customer and stakeholder requirements
Within 12 months of position appointment, serve as a Red Cross subject matter expert in information and planning program guidance and tools
Qualifications:
Ability to build and lead a team using a collaborative leadership style
Organization and ability to keep accurate records
Self-starter and can perform a wide range of assignments
Strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
