The Stations Construction Team is a committee of volunteers and staff that are tasked to design and build interactive learning stations that will be featured at events and may find a home in our classroom. Our next project will be our featured exhibit at DLECTRICITY in Detroit's Midtown from September 24th to 25th! So sign up today!

What are stations?

Stations are hands-on, interactive, exhibits, designed for the purpose of allowing curiosity and exploration for children. These installations have to be intuitive and self-guided, and most of all, FUN! We try our best to incorporate a principle of STEM that can be learned simply by engaging with our stations but it isn't a requirement so long as it allows children and students to be inventive and creative.

Our first few meetings will be virtual.

Mission Statement

For over 30 years, Arts & Scraps has reimagined recycled materials to inspire people of all ages to think, create and learn.

Description

Arts & Scraps is open to the public to stuff bags with safe, accessible recycled industrial materials. We also host educational and curriculum-based field trips, on site workshops for children and adults and create art and curriculum kits for 10 to 35 students. We bring activity tables to events throughout the Metro Detroit Area. Our warehouse uses volunteers of all abilities to sort, pack and prepare materials for our programs and learning kits.
