WesleyLife Hospice - visit with patients in their home

Save to Favorites

  • 1 person is interested

WesleyLife Hospice is looking to add friendly and compassionate individuals to give the gift of time and presence through visits. Our patients need companionship more than ever after a year of so much isolation. Finding common interests through conversation, listening to cherished memories, holding a hand, playing a game, or taking a stroll are all things you could do to brighten someone's day. By providing this extra companionship at the end stage of life, volunteers can touch the hearts of our patients and even change their life - or your own!

Volunteers can also help provide respite to caregivers by sitting with a patient while the caregiver takes a nap, runs errands or does tasks around the house. Volunteers do not provided any hands on care.

Opportunities are available in private homes in Polk, Dallas, Boone, Story, Marion, Jasper and Warren counties.

Requirements include:

  • Volunteer Application
  • Background Checks
  • 2 Step TB Test (provided at no cost)
  • Hospice training
  • Dependent Adult Abuse training

WesleyLife Hospice has certain requirements in place when volunteering in person to protect our residents, staff and volunteers during COVID. Screenings and masks are required at minimum.

Mission Statement

Guided by Christian compassion, we support the independence, health and well-being of older adults wherever they call home.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a life of continued growth, experience, engagement, and meaning, regardless of physical, social, or economic circumstances. Aging is an opportunity. The second half of life can be the best half!

Our comprehensive network of services is designed to fulfill the wishes of older adults to remain independent and active wherever they choose to live. Because we have a vision of transforming the aging experience, we focus not on limitations, but on possibilities.

We strive to be the thread that leads families to better solutions and binds them with the strength and support they need to maintain loving and healthy relationships. At WesleyLife, we celebrate a spirit for living!
