ORGANIZATION: Aurora Health Care Volunteer Opportunities

Safety is our number one priority and many processes have been put into place to ensure our volunteers and patients are as safe as possible including proper personal protection, social distancing and screening at all our entrances. All volunteers will be trained on these aspects. All volunteers are required to wear a mask during the entire shift.

Our goal with the following volunteer opportunities is to welcome our patients and visitors and help them feel safe and comfortable in our hospitals and clinics.

  • Front entrance Ambassador - greets, assists patients/visitors with Safe Check screening application, assists patients with wheelchair or walk escorts to destinations within the hospital. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 7:30am - 5pm
  • Emergency Department Liaison - Stocks supplies in exam rooms and assembles IV kits for staff. Hours of operation are Mon-Sun from 7:00am-7:00pm
  • Virtual Visitation phone calling - this is a remote position in which patients’ clinical staff will page for a Zoom session between patient and family/friends. Hours of operation are Mon-Sun from 7:00am-7:00pm (this requires a four hour shift at least once a week)

All volunteers must be at least 15 years of age. We are kindly requesting that all volunteers commit to at least one shift per week with at least 2-3 hours of volunteering per shift through the end of August.
