Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: NAMI METRO SUBURBAN INC

  • 8 people are interested

The NAMI Drop-in Center is a place where adults (18+) living with a mental health condition can go to socialize, find support and build lifeskills.

The Drop-in Center is currently seeking someone to lead our outdoors walking group. This leader would walk with interested individuals around the Oak Park area - starting and ending at the Drop-in Center. The outdoors group may also choose to spend time in the local parks or doing other local outdoor activities. The key role of the group leader would be to encourage participation and help build conversation and connections amongst the walkers. In cases of bad weather, the group may choose to stay indoors at the Drop-in Center and engage in other activities.

The outdoors walking group will meet weekly for 1 hour between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday or Sunday and between 1pm and 7pm on Monday or Tuesday. You do not need to be available for both sessions to be considered for this role.

Volunteers must be over 18 years old.
