123 William St, 4th Floor, NEW YORK, NY 10038, US
Breakthrough New York is a non-profit organization that transforms the lives of motivated, low-income students by preparing them for college so that they can succeed in the world.
We're committed to serving the needs of middle school students for six years until their graduation from high school and matriculation to a four-year college. We believe that middle school is a critical period for all young people and comes with its own unique set of challenges and opportunities. We then provide ongoing support to our students throughout high school until they matriculate at college.
Obtaining a four-year degree is the single best chance that our students have to break the cycle of poverty in their families forever. Breakthrough New York students are exceptional in that they have demonstrated academic performance, potential and motivation, but lack opportunity. Over the last five years, 96% of our students have gone onto college compared with 52% nationally.
How do we ignite our students with a passion for learning and going to college? During the middle school years, we hire and train high school and college students to teach and to be positive role models of success. Through training young people as teachers, we are able to impact thousands of children.
We'll work with your schedule.
This is a Virtual Opportunity with no fixed address.
