Delivery Driver - Cary to Raleigh once a week
Note in the Pocket - Clothing for children in need
The UPS Store hosts a collection bin for us and we have a rotation of volunteers who empty it for us regularly. You would be joining that rotation. You can choose any day or time of the week that works for you during hours that the UPS Store is open. You can choose whichever of the two delivery locations is most convenient for you. Community Workforce Solutions has clients with disabilities who sort clothing for us. By dropping off in their bin, you are giving them something to work on.
Pick up bags of clothing @ UPS Store Parkside Town Commons, 7151 O'Kelly Chapel Rd Cary and deliver to either:
- Community Workforce Solutions, 1011 Schaub Dr Raleigh (parking lot bin available 24/7)
- Crossroads Fellowship, 2721 E. Millbrook Rd Raleigh (9am-12pm Mon-Sat or 1-4pm Mon-Fri)
As a non-profit serving the children in Wake County schools, Note in the Pocket started with a simple mission: To Clothe Children in Dignity and Love. We believe that it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school. In 2020 Note clothed more than 5,000 individuals, mostly children, throughout all twelve cities and towns in Wake County. Due to an increase in clothing requests as a result of COVID-19 related job and income loss, our goal for 2021 is to clothe 6,000 in confidence! Note in the Pocket's Mission Statement: Note in the Pocket provides clothes to homeless and impoverished students in Wake County. We believe it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development due to a lack of appropriate clothes.
Note in the Pocket is a 501c3 organization providing clothing to homeless and impoverished schoolchildren in Wake County. To meet our goal to clothe 5000 in 2020, we are expanding our Volunteer Center hours in an effort to keep pace with our rapidly growing clothing donations (200,000 pounds in 2019) and to allow us to expand the number of individuals and volunteer groups we can accommodate (volunteers logged over 15,000 hours in 2019).
