Hello and thank you for stopping by to find out more information about our volunteer opportunities. We at Haven Manor Inc. believe no one should be homeless, especially Veterans. My name is Linda Hawkins, a daughter and a niece to Veterans. The idea to start a 501c3 was birthed out of my desire to help our military in any way that I can. Haven Manor Inc. was founding in 2016 with a desire to help Veterans and active duty military secure safe and affordable housing in Georgia, and to accumulate resources so we are able to help Veterans in other ways in the future.
In our search to provide housing, Haven Manor Inc. has acquired a junkyard. We have run into zoning and other obstacles in purchasing land to make the vision possible for people to put their tiny home with wheels on. Until we find the community with the acreage that will embrace and allow our vision, an unexpected direction was found. A junkyard in Silver Creek Georgia was purchased!
The junkyard has two buildings with a bathroom in each, plenty of parking, and 10.38 acres. The plan will allow people to rent a space month by month in the junkyard to construct their home.
As of August 5th, 2024 the immediate need is to clean up, fix up, repair, construct, paint, and do a lot of yardwork at the junkyard. The junkyard has not been in operation for many years. We need plenty of volunteers ASAP!
All volunteers 18 years old and over are welcome. For people on community service, we can provide you with the documentation needed for your probation officer, judge, or attorney. We have been working side by side with our volunteers since 2016.

Haven Manor Inc. was formed in 2016 after seeing a need for more affordable and safe housing in Cobb County GA and surrounding counties. In our future, we plan to place as many people in safe and affordable houses, apartments, and mobile homes by acquiring more properties and by working with local landlords and managers of apartments. To help our community further, we work with people on community service to help them get their hours by working on the properties, and other fundraiser opportunities.
