Advisory Board Chair NY
ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS
Please visit the new page to apply.
We are looking for a well-rounded, fairly connected, service minded individual to join our team as an Advisory Board Co-Chair for the NY Chapter of SoulPhamm United. You may learn more about SoulPhamm by visiting www.soulphamm.org. Please note that as we are a brand new organization, content is still being developed. SoulPhamm exists to provide sports, arts, academic and service programs for young people in New York and New Jersey.
The Advisory Board Co-Chair of NY will work closely with SoulPhamm's Founder and the Co-Chair for NJ in helping position SoulPhamm for success. We are literally JUST beginning - so nothing (outside of the kids who are participating) exists at the moment and the pandemic has highlighted how much we really need.
The primary task for the Co-Chairs will be the formation of a corporate board that will be tasked primarily with fundraising and governance. This will include recruiting and vetting potential members who can add value to the organization and will work with the Founder to set policies, goals, etc., that the Board will work through in their first year. The secondary task is assisting with the launch of SoulPhamm which is currently being scheduled for June 25-26, 2021 in the Bronx.
95% of this work can be done virtually in its planning phases. Meetings, when needed, should happen in the Midtown section of Manhattan (this can be discussed at a later time).
The Board Co-Chair must be able to successfully engage a variety of personalities; he/she must be adept at community outreach and fundraising and solid communication/public speaking and organizational skills are a must. A sense of humor, passion for service and love for youth is also vital.
Interested candidates are asked to send their most recent resume and cover letter to souldeevas@gmail.com which explains why they are interested in this opportunity and what value they believe they can add to the team. The next step will be a Zoom call with the Founder. Many thanks for your interest!
