Here at Sertoma Centre, we provide opportunities that empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve personal success. We help over 2,000 individuals annually in the Greater Chicago Southside neighborhoods -and we need volunteers like you to support our mission!
We are looking for volunteers to make and donate colored rice for our sensory art projects. This is a great project to do with kids around Easter time!
We service over 55 consumers in our 8 group homes so the more rice you can donate the better! We would also love larger amounts of red and blue rice for our Memorial Day art projects.
Directions can be found on the internet. We can also send you the directions we like the most! Ingredients and supplies vary but usually consist of:
inexpensive, long-grain white rice
vinegar
food coloring
Baking sheets
Wax paper
Rice donations can be mailed or dropped off at our business location in Alsip, IL. Thank you for your time and consideration!
