Help Students Re-engage with School through Porch Visits

UWSL is trying to better understand why students are not attending in-person or online classes so we can find ways to successfully reengage them in school. In pairs, volunteers will visit families, ask specific questions about the barriers keeping their students from attending classes, and provide resources to help them re-engage. Volunteers will be required to attend training, pass a Salt Lake School District background check (no cost), and are asked to commit to two hours a week for a month. Visits will take place from 6-8 p.m. on weeknights.

Description

Identify barriers causing student disengagement and provide resources to overcome those barriers.

Purpose
