For people who enjoy hands-on learning and tinkering with a small group of like-minded individuals, this is a great opportunity to give back. By supporting the maintenance of an aquaponic system at a title 1 middle school, you will make possible hands-on science and sustainability learning for underrepresented youth.
Volunteers will learn the duties of system maintenance, cleaning, and water quality testing and control. Must be able to work independently and as part of a small team. Previous experience with aquaponics and/or aquarium management preferred though we are always interested in collaborating with individuals who are committed to strengthening sustainability education and building new skills to achieve a healthier, wiser future.
