Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Business Development volunteer will spearhead development efforts as our Nonprofit continues to grow. A new position in the start-up organization, the BD volunteer will have the opportunity to build the development function.
Co-develop and execute our Nonprofit's annual fundraising plan with ED and Board
Generates positive community awareness of the organization, its mission and impact, and strengthens its brand and reputation with business partners, clients and the community we serve
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
Manage the implementation of tracking database and oversee data entry and gift processing
Co-develop relationships with major donors in partnership with ED and marketing efforts
Co-create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors (with Board and ED)
Overseeing organization of special events
Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
Search, organize and write grants
Experience in fundraising, sales, or entrepreneurial development
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
Experience with building relationships
Ability and passion to use phone, email, video calls to network (in-person only when safe)
Expertise in networking, marketing and targeted influencer identification and outreach
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner
Strong interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to work effectively with members of organizational boards, colleagues, business partners, prospects and community stakeholders
Ability to assess motivations and desires in others, create empathy and identify commonalities and a shared vision
Proficiency in Google Office and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Skype and PowerPoint, and grants management systems, Google Drive, Jam Board, etc.
