Celebrate life with hospice patients in Marshall County, AL
Encompass Health- Hospice in Marshall County is seeking individuals to provide support to patients and families by helping to celebrate milestone such as birthdays, anniversaries, and/or holidays. This opportunity is open to small groups of 3-5 people and youth volunteers (please read requirements for minors below). Volunteer commitment each month is at least 2 hours or and flexible to volunteer’s schedule.
At this time volunteer will not enter the home but instead maintain social distancing, wear appropriate PPE provided by Encompass and only make no- contact "porch" visits.
NO medical experience needed, volunteers DO NOT perform "hands on" care. By being there, you will also give patients support through socialization and companionship. Volunteers are welcome to provide assistance during the day, after hours, or on weekends. The Volunteer Coordinator will mentor volunteers until they comfortable and confident to volunteer independently.
Requirements
A time log will be provided for documentation of donated time. We provide a comprehensive, free training for all of our volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to provide assistance during the day, after hours, or on weekends.
Volunteers must complete the application and orientation processes, which in include background screenings, a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Volunteers must have their own reliable transportation. Volunteers must be organized, the ability to multitask and complete written documentation and be self-motivated to work independently.
Jr. volunteers ages 14-18 may volunteer as long as they are accompanied and supervised by an adult volunteer.
Volunteer commitment is ongoing, and flexible to volunteer’s schedule. Preferably at least 1 hour to 5 hours a week. We provide a free training for all of our volunteers.

Enhabit Health-Hospice seeks kind individuals to support patients and families during a most difficult time.
