My Brutha's Keeper Inc. is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide a high-level support to the Executive Director of the organization by handling information request, conducting research, preparing reports, and other clerical functions. This position requires for our admin assistant to be a link between the department managers and the Executive Director, as well as assist in developing a constructive and cooperative relationship between all departments. This role consist of tasks such as file management, data entry, and clerical support. In addition, this position primarily will consist of working independently, however, may require working with a team periodically.

You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and community-driven to take on this exciting role. This position requires an initial commitment of three months. All staff are expected to participate in weekly team meeting (in-person or virtually), have at least 5 hours of community contact per-week, and attend at least one event/tabling opportunity per quarter. Volunteers typically work 4-8 hrs per week, and 2-4 hours per event. The ideal person for this position is a visionary and someone that is dedicated to uplifting/serving those individuals in need.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between the Executive Director and the department managers to ensure mutual understanding of tasks, goals, and agendas.
  • Remain in constant contact with each department.
  • Update calendars, agendas, and supporting documents on a daily basis.
  • Program research and development.
  • Organize, store, and manage files for the review and auditing.
  • Coordinate and participate in organizational meetings, and follow up on action items.
  • Other duties that maybe assigned by the Executive Director.

Inspired by the personal stories of struggle, perseverance, and the ultimate triumph of Darrell Wallace Jr., M.A., founder of My Brutha's Keeper Inc., our organization aims to create a brotherhood of support-through education, outreach, and mentorship-to help these men become leaders within their families and the community at large.

At My Brutha's Keeper Inc., we promote initiatives and raise much-needed funds to assist men in our community who need it most. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing men of color today.

  • This opportunity requires a commitment of at least 2 days a week, and 4 hours each day. In addition, this opportunity requires direct frequent communication via email and text, as well as a phone/video conference once per week.
