Boundless Brilliance is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization that seeks to empower students to embrace their brilliance and realize a future of STEM leadership that is as diverse as the world that we live in. We do this by creating a fun and interactive STEM-based curriculum that college volunteers take into low-income neighborhood schools.
OUR PROGRAMS: Our core programming is our empowering school-based workshops, which are provided to students at no cost. These presentations include hands-on STEM experiments and empowerment activities. Our other programmatic activities involves community outreach and education; which are carried out through partnerships with other nonprofits, museums, and schools.

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING: We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer that is passionate about education, equity in STEM, and girls/women’s empowerment. Someone who recognizes the urgency to combat the Feminization of Poverty, and the need to make quality education, particularly STEM education accessible and inclusive.
We are a small, but passionate and productive team, and while we try to handle tasks internally, we have realized that we are in need of a volunteer with an expertise and/or experience in accounting/bookkeeping; especially with nonprofits financial management, to provide us with guidance and consultation.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Specifically, we are hoping to find volunteer(s) to help us with the following:
* Setting up our Quickbooks account for nonprofit bookkeeping. This would include setting up categories, coding expenses and revenue, especially when it comes to designating between restricted and unrestricted funding.
* Provide consolation on what should be compiled on an ongoing basis to prepare an IRS Form 990 for tax filing services.
* Preparing accurate financial statements, such as YTD P&L and balance sheets.
Required knowledge: Quickbooks, Tax filings/Form 990
Preferred: Nonprofit financial management experience

Boundless Brilliance is a Los Angeles County based 501c3 nonprofit which launched in 2017 and now boasts over 130 volunteers. The organization was founded on a simple, powerful idea: STEM is for everyone. We envision a future of STEM leadership that is as diverse as the world in which we live.
We utilize a unique approach to carry out our mission, which includes empowerment messages and early intervention - targeting students as early as 6 years old, with school-based classroom presentations and no-cost community events that help to ensure that hands on immersion in STEM is accessible to all.
