Volunteers should be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for up to 4 hours. We ask for at least one shift per month, but many of our volunteers come weekly because we have so much fun!
This position is perfect for a recently retired person looking to safely interact with new people in an upbeat store environment while following all CDC social distancing, sanitizing, and masking guidelines. Students can also benefit from gaining retail experience and learning about fair trade.

Our Mission... We create opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term, fair trading relationships. Our Vision... One day all artisans in the developing countries will earn a fair wage, be treated with dignity and respect and be able to live a life of quality.
Ten Thousand Villages is more than a store. We're a global maker‑to‑market movement that breaks the cycle of generational poverty and ignites social change. We're a way for you to shop with intention for ethically-sourced wares - and to share in the joy of empowering makers in ten thousand villages.
As a pioneer of fair trade, we do business differently, putting people and planet first. That means you can trust that every handmade purchase and donation you make directly impact the life and community of its maker in a developing country.
