The Social Action Communications Volunteer will search local websites, news and resources, as well as social media channels to update the social action page on our website with the latest news and events.

This will involve drafting short, succinct, and interesting blog posts that signpost the reader’s attention to local issues, and uploading local events and meetings to the website. The right person will need to have an eye for a good story and be a confident writer, as well as the ability to work independently. There is a high degree of trust and autonomy for this role, and there will always be support on hand and weekly check-in with the supervisor.

The intelligence and information gathered by the volunteer will be vital to helping people get involved in their local community, as well as provide a platform for local causes to amplify their work through our online outlets. They will therefore have an important role in help us achieve our long-term strategic aims.
