ACC Senior Services works to improve the quality of life for seniors by identifying, developing, and providing culturally sensitive health and social services. We are seeking motivated volunteers with excellent communication skills to support our ACC Care Center staff and residents as a volunteer receptionist!

The volunteer in this role assists in the operation of the front desk at ACC Care Center, and serves as the first point of contact for all visitors and phone calls made to the facility. During the COVID-19 pandemic, most people who come to the facility are staff and other individuals associated with ACC.

During a regular shift, you will be responsible for:
- Abide by and enforce social distancing, and all other COVID-19 safety protocols.
- Answer all calls and direct them to the appropriate staff person when necessary, or take messages as needed.
- Provide information over the phone, as needed.
- Assist in the scheduling of activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

We'd really like our volunteer to have skills related to:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
- Familiarity with, and comfortable using, Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
- Comfortable using a computer to schedule calendar appointments.

ACC Care Center, 7801 Rush River Drive, Sacramento, CA 95831

Schedule & Length of Commitment:
Afternoon shift available Monday - Sunday from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Requirements to Volunteer at the ACC Care Center:

  • All volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Volunteers in this position are required to complete an online background check.
    • ACC pays for all volunteer background checks.
    • No volunteer is denied solely on the grounds of criminal conviction; but the date, nature, and relevance of the offense to the position assigned may be considered.
  • All volunteers are required to watch two (2) training videos; about Elder Abuse Prevention and Mandated Reporting, and HIPAA Confidentiality. Total duration = approximately 45 minutes.
  • All volunteers are required to read and sign all waivers in our Volunteer Application Packet.
  • All volunteers at the ACC Care Center are required to complete a Tuberculosis test and physical exam with your primary care physician prior to starting. We accept test results up to three (3) months prior to volunteering.

  • 08:00 AM to 11:30 AM
    This shift is available Sunday - Thursday
  • 10:00 AM to 02:15 PM
    This shift is available Friday & Saturday
  • 11:30 AM to 03:00 PM
    This shift is available Sunday - Thursday
  • 02:15 PM to 06:30 PM
    This shift is available Friday & Saturday
  • 03:00 PM to 06:30 PM
    This shift is available Sunday - Thursday
