We now have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer MEL Specialist to join us at ADC. T he MEL Specialist will play a lead role in the design and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plan by developing appropriate indicators, implementing systems to safeguard the collection and management of program data, and recommending changes to project annual work plans or data collection techniques as needed.
The MEL Specialist will also train project staff and liaise wit h Head of Construction Design on M&E reporting requirements and program learning strategies.
D evelop and maintain M&E plans for projects in Kenya
Provide significant inputs into the development of project level data collection tool, supporting data collection and leading on data analysis
Q uantitative or qualitative analyses
Assist in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators
Lead on producing evaluation report summaries for internal and external audiences
Set up appropriate monitoring and reporting system
Keep up-to-date with emerging and trending best practice in quantitative research methods, sharing these with colleagues
Minimum 5 years in a monitoring & evaluation role in the development sector
Excellent knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning ideally gained from within the international development sector, though UK focused experience will also be considered
A demonstrated track record of providing MEL support to complex projects (setting out MEL plans, and evaluation frameworks, developing data collection tools, leading on data analysis and reporting etc ).
An ability to think both strategically and operationally around the application of appropriate evaluation methods, tools, and processes in different contexts.
Strong ICT skills, especially in using database and analytical software; proficiency in digital data systems will be an advantage.
Excellent project management skills
A MEL qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
