The MY HERO Project, Inc.


In response to Covid and the need for improved distance learning resources, MY HERO is creating multimedia enriched lesson plans for a wide range of disciplines and grade levels. Whether teachers are working in the classroom or online, our free content brings positive messages and inspiration into online learning and lessons.

English Language Learners can listen to MY HERO's inspiring stories to further their English language proficiency and learn about international heroes at the same time. Students listen and read along to the hero stories included in this resource.

Collections of Listen and Read Along Stories About Heroes from Around the Globe

Stories Categories: Youth Heroes, Scientist Heroes, Environmental Heroes, Heroes in the Arts, Heroes Working for Peace, Heroes from the Holocaust, and Heroes Working on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Now more than ever, children, teachers, and parents yearn for messages of hope and courage to face the challenges that lie ahead. The MY HERO web site hosts thousands of stories of remarkable individuals written by children and adults alike. These stories serve to remind us that we all have the potential to overcome great obstacles and achieve our dreams by following in the footsteps of our heroes. MY HERO invites you, your family, school or organization to take part in this interactive web project. By publicly honoring your hero on this awar d-winning site, you reward those who have made a difference and bring a new hope to this global online community.


Millions of visitors in over 194 nations discover and share stories, art, films and music celebrating heroes around the world on MY HERO.
Educators incorporate MY HERO in character education, journalism,
thematic social studies and literature units, and to develop
writing skills, media arts and literacy.
MY HERO accepts submissions: Narrative,
Experimental/Musical, Documentary and
Animation. Submissions of short films and
multimedia presentations are accepted on
an ongoing basis. Awards are given to student and professional filmmakers.
Media Arts Resources assist teachers and students interested in creating short films
Art portrays heroes, heroism, or heroic deeds in a variety of mediums, including animation, collage and assemblage, digital imagery, mixed media, painting, photography and film, printmaking, sculpture and video.
The MY HERO Project is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to this nonprofit project are fully tax deductible.
