Rec on the Go!
"Rec on the GO!" kids excited about their books!

The Free Book Buggie is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that accepts, sorts, stores and distributes new and pre-loved children's books across the Twin Cites and beyond. We partner with over 90 other organizations to provide age-appropriate books to under-resourced families and communities. We are excited for events to start up again so we can continue providing books to the children. The need is great and we would love your help in supporting our mission.

Our Mission: To provide books to children and ignite a passion for reading that empowers each child to explore a world of opportunity.

Our Vision: We envision a world where all children have their own home library and become lifelong learners through the joy of reading.

Some of our volunteer opportunities are:

  • Count & Sort donated books
  • Bag/Box books for distributing
  • Pick up &/or deliver books to various locations
  • Read stories aloud for Facebook (virtually)
  • Identify new partner organizations
  • Attend events to assist children in choosing books
  • Support our mission financially

We hope you will join us in sharing free children's books across Minnesota!
